Insulation, R-40

The past couple days have seen record breaking high temperature here in Vermont, yesterday it was 80 in Shelburne, that is an all time high.  However..........., soon things will take a turn downward and it will go from lovely to chilly and then on into down right COLD.  As that time of year approaches we need to focus on Energy Efficiency and how we impact our environment.  Or, hopefully how little we impact our environment.  Take a look at the photograph and you will see a 10" thick wall that we use for all of our exterior walls.  By building with staggered framing we are able to create a void of 10" that is then filled using the BIB's insulation technique.  BIB's stands for "Blown In Barrier" using blown in fiberglass creating an outstanding insulation system.  Please understand the BIB's is not fiberglass batt insulation, it is completely different using a blown in product that fills every nook and cranny.  We prefer BIB's over spray foam because BIB's costs far less, provides a higher R-Value, and is far less harmful to our environment.  The manufacturing process associated with creating spray foam uses a huge amount of energy.  Let us know how we can help you.
