Detail 06

As we continue our conversation about small details that can make all the difference in your new home today we look at a small detail that honestly everyone things is a HUGE deal and that is the cabinetry in the kitchen.

Vermont Modular Homes proudly features Cabinetry by Merillat, the largest manufacturer of kitchen cabinets in America.  We offer hundreds of options, styles, woods, finishes, and so on.  Honestly it is so easy to get overwhelmed.  But, don't let that happen, it tends to take the fun out of designing your new kitchen.

For starters there are "L" shaped kitchens, "U" shaped kitchen, Galley Kitchens, and a zillion others created by homeowners.  The basic layout of your new kitchen is obviously going to depend greatly on the overall layout of the new home.  We have many kitchen designs that we'd love to share with you as a place to begin dreaming about your new kitchen.

If you go to Merillat's web site ( ) they have all kind of great tools to help you with design and picking out the right cabinet that is just right for you.  The majority of our homeowners choose the "Classic Series" of cabinets as they are a beautiful array of cabinets at reasonable prices.

Obviously, there are many types of wood to choose from for example: Birch, Cherry, Hickory, Maple, Oak, and laminates, each with it's own unique beauty derived by the grain and characteristics of the wood; maple and oak are both very popular and yet are very different as is cherry and hickory.

Oh wait ----- once you have thought about a specific species of wood you now need to think about various stains and finishes.  This part can become daunting as there are so many options available to you.

Please realize the cabinets come in a vast assortment of types; there are drawer cabinets, drawer cabinets with doors, drawer cabinets with pull-out shelves, and so on.  The options are amazing.  Today's photograph shows drawer cabinets that have doors and pull-out shelves.  How nice is that!

In this brief post we have barely introduced you to the possibilities.  Since many people consider the kitchen to be The Heart of a Home, it is important and probably the most important of all the small details.  Tomorrow let's take a look at Kitchen Counter Tops and see what's out there for you.

Have fun designing your new kitchen.
