Here’s a quick peek at the upcoming weather -
Wednesday – widespread rain with embedded tstorms
Thursday – scatters showers and thunderstorms, very muggy
Friday – Very HOT and muggy, showers and tstorms.
All that is the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry. And you ask, “…. how does all this impact a single-family residence?”
The excessive heat and high humidity with the associated moisture and condensation is not a good thing for personal comfort nor the wellbeing of your home.
Today’s photograph shows a very recently installed Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) system. One of its most important jobs is to regulate the humidity in your home. The upcoming weather is apt to have humidity levels in the 80’s and 90’s of percent. This is when everything inside your home feels damp. That dampness is a wonderful breeding ground for mold and mildew.
You do not want mold or mildew in your home!
The HRV reduces the humidity in your home as it circulates and replenishes the house’ supply of fresh air. Every time we deliver a home from Vermont Modular it includes an HRV and we strongly believe every home should have such an air-handler system.
As homes are built tighter and tighter it is critical to have a constant supply of fresh air also regulate the home’s humidity.
